Flavor substances and fragrances - the substances, which are used to give the products  certain odors, create or enhance flavor. According to their chemical composition, fragrances are divided into synthetic, semi synthetic and natural. The latter include all kinds of herbal extracts, essential oils, amber, musk, etc. You may think that natural perfumery compositions are more preferable, than synthetic. However, essential oils as fragrances have some disadvantages: they can easily evaporate and can give totally unexpected smell in combination with the product base. When choosing flavor composition don’t make any conclusions on «sharp» or «weak» impression – these are " high notes» of flavor, which in the finished product may not appear. Choice of fragrances for a particular cosmetic product or synthetic detergents is determined by its physical-chemical properties and technology of product manufacturing.

Fragrances in perfumes and in the formulations of cosmetic products differ significantly according to their chemical composition. Perfumes contain more additives for stability of smell, fixers, volatile fractions. Volatile fractions evaporating from skin, create around the body the fragrance, which gives the first impression - the so-called major note. In fragrances intended for cosmetic products are used less volatile compositions without a fixer. This is due to the fact that  cosmetic fragrances should meet specific requirements
 
They should not remain on the skin for a long time: 2-3 minutes after product application the smell should disappear. On the contrary, in synthetic detergents, fragrances are picked up in such a way that they appear in the end of cycle, characterized by resistance flavor, and give linen the scent of freshness. As a rule, fragrances and flavors in the formulations of synthetic detergents are introduced at the final stage of technological process. Dosages of use are recommended, but can vary in a wide range depending on the formulation, the quality of basis and raw materials, as well as the preferences of producers and buyers
